These dresses are TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. Somebody's mother must be blind or something...

I really wish I had a prom story to tell. I didn't go to either one of my proms because nobody asked me either year I know I could have gone by myself but I didn't want to do that...*sniffle*

When I got to college though, I went to our Homecoming formal and had my new sweetie (not so new now) take me. He treated me like it was the prom for real...with flowers, the ride, everything. All's well that ends well--just three years later!!

I went to my prom: class of 1988.

I wore purple and black that I designed and had a seamstress put together. She was so excited that she added a shawl and gave me a rhinestone neckalce.

I wasn't prom queen and can't remember who was. I think one of my puerto rican sistahs was crowned prom queen.

I can't even remember my prom theme.

I went to the prom solo. I was suppose to go with a friend that I knew since the second grade, but he ganked me and I went solo. My mother was pissed because she paid for the limo and it was too late to cancel. So I rode in a limo with a friend who was meeting her date at the venue (he worked there )

My prom was, I think, $54.

I remeber going to my seat so embarrased because I was by myself and sitting a table that seated about 10 people. Some of the guys I knew said "where's your date?" I was like, lets not talk about that tonight. One brotha said, "I was going to ask you but I just knew you had a date." Mind you no one asked me to the date, that's why I asked my "friend."

The guy I really wanted to take me to the prom said no because I wasn't going to give him no azz. well he didn't say it, but I knew that was the reason.

I did give my number to this brotha, that I'd met the past year and who said he "lost" it. He ended up being my "first" -years later.

My prom was ummmm...June 9, 1989!

I went with a guy that I asked.... he didn't go to my school and he became my boyfriend the next day.

I wore a Mint Green dress.....two piece satin and lace, strapless with a lace shawl. The top had a V neck line and cascaded to a peplum front, long in the back. The skirt was basic above the knee. I wore the shoes that you can dye (porta....sp) but I didn't dye them. Where was I EVER going to wear Mint Green shoes again? My Mommy made my dress.....she is an excellent seamstress by trade....profession is RN. She's going to do my Wedding Dress.....but NOT in Mint Green! LOL

My Prom ticket was....get this....$45 per person. Six of us split the cost of the limo which cost us in total.... get THIS....$500 for 10 hours.

None of us were Prom King or Queen. In order to qualify we had to write an essay and have a certain GPA. GO FIGURE!!! It's the Prom....not and SAT.

Anyway, our Prom theme was: Make It Last Forever.

Dr. Bob Lee from WBLS was our DJ for the evening and the Prom was held at Terrace On The Park in Queens, NY.

IT RAINED ALLLL DAY AND NIGHT!!! Can you say some ANGRY WOMEN who spent all day in the salon for the curls to end up DROPPING????

I'm still friends with two of the people I shared the car with....my boyfriend....HISTORY!!!

NayNay: An' I know that's right....look did one of ya'll brang some of that drank and put it in the car? This punch is not hittin on nuttin. An' I gots to sit down 'cause my feets is skraight swellin...let's ride out player.

Thanks for putting me in the hijack. I don't make that much bank, but I know how to shop and know that LVMH (Louis Vuitton's parent company) sure as heck doesn't condone faux logo spandexwear.
