Just found this thread & wanted to share my encouragement to you Leslie Anne!

I don't go to the movies except maybe once a year... But I do rent movies each week (for work, and I sneak them home lol)

Here's the list of my opinion of the following movies:

Avatar - I haven't seen it yet, but I've heard from a lot of friends that the IMAX experience is the best way to watch it!
Coraline - Couldn't watch all of it... I never liked anything that resembled the Nightmare Before Christmas type movie - they just freak me out.
District 9 - Showed this at work, and the majority of the people that attended did not like this movie.
The Hurt Locker - I loved this movie!
Inglorious Basterds - This movie was alright... I thought this was more gory than The Hurt Locker. And like someone else had mentioned, I thought it was based on a true story - until the end of the movie. lol
Julie and Julia - I thought this movie was really cute!
Up - I typically will take movies up to my mom's, but I couldn't have her watch this one... I knew she would be so depressed by it. But I did enjoy the parts that didn't make me cry

We seem to have very similar taste in movies! I just watched Inglourious Basterds. I really liked it but I didn't love, love, love it. Christoph Waltz was absolutely phenomenal in it though. "I say Bingo!" lol

It's frustrating. I've been called out of town for the week and I haven't been able to watch any movies. I'm running out of time!

The academy claimed they didn't include Farrah or Bea (but mainly Farrah) because they could only include 30 or 40 (can't remember the number) in the tribute...and Farrah is more "TV" than movies. Yeah cause The Wiz really makes Michael Jackson more 'movie'

Farrah did movies, but I guess that doesn't matter nor the fact that she was a member of the Academy for over 40 years.
