I wish they'd just start fresh and bring in someone new. This rehashing of rejects is getting old. I wouldn't mind bringing back somebody booted early on, because you hardly have formed an opinion of them, but once they've "fallen in love" with the protagonist, it just seems fake that they are ready to "take another chance" to find their spouse on national TV.
as for Ali: I wish he'd not pick either Tenley or horseface and go searching for Ali while riding a streetcar, red rose in hand, with "I Left My Heart In San Francisco" playing in the background. Now, that would be "The MOST dramatic rose ceremony EVER!"

Ditto on the bringing back rejects thing. Does anyone else feel like he doesn't pick EITHER of them? I know they purposely make the previews all dramatic, but both girls were quoted saying these negative things. Hmmm...

I agree with you on this one. They kept saying last season that they were going to bring in someone brand new... and then they announced Jake. It's almost like they forgot they promised someone new?
They like the built in audience that someone old brings. But perhaps we'd be MORE excited about getting to know a brand new person and seeing them fresh? They haven't brought back an early reject before, have they? Before maybe F4 or F5? That could be a good compromise.

Supposedly he does pick one of them at the final rose ceremony, but also supposedly the After the Final Rose episode is supposed to be where the excitement is at. But... who really knows anymore?

I agree, because when you think about this hot mess...it traces all the way back to Brad Womack.
Brad Womack -> Deanna Pappas -> Jason Mesnick -> Gillian -> Jake Pavelka

And so the "hot mess" perpetuates for yet another cycle:
Brad Womack -> Deanna Pappas -> Jason Mesnick -> Gillian ->
Jake Pavelka - > Ali
