Some NPHC orgs require an official transcript. This formally allows them to see the cumulative GPA, credit hours, and enrollment verification.

It also allows them to look at the grades and GPA from previous semesters, as well as courses and major/minor. Applicants need to remember that an invitation to membership is not a guarantee with minimum requirements. What sets applicants above the rest is based on a number of factors. Depending on what those making the decisions choose to address, it can partially be based on what else is on the official transcript.
