I'd say the mom would be better off putting herself on a diet - especially since she is "competing" against her daughter in the pageants....
Why are most of these moms morbidly obese???

I was thinking the same thing about that mom. She is the one that needs to go on the diet and leave her poor daugher alone. I had never seen this show before and was just flipping through channels, not sure I will watch again as shows like this make me sad.

You can totally tell from the mom's it's a case of not being pretty enough/skinny enough/talented enough/young enough/adorable enough/coordinated enough for THEM to have done pageants, so they have to live out the fantasy with the kids.
Charlie was hilarious. When your kidlet is crying about everything pageant and calling you names, maybe it's time to bow out for a bit and just run around the playground instead of dropping your child off the equipment in an effort to secure a "cute" photo.
I prefer watching King of the Crown because the girls are older. Some of the mom's are just as scary, but I love the snark that Cyrus brings.

Why do some of these parents insist on their kid SINGING as their talent when they sound awful?
I have yet to hear a kid sing during a pageant whose voice didn't sound like a dying animal.

I think the little girl with the Daphne outfit and Mystery Machine is absolutely adorable. She seemed to like doing pageants on some level (at least not screaming and yelling). The mom seemed pretty normal too.
I felt really badly for the little boy with the curly hair. He SO didn't want to do it and Mom was so insistent. I was glad she pulled him out.
That other little girl (with the little brother who was also in the pageant) was also just not feeling it. I think her brother may have liked it more than she did.
It's a little sad that mom admitted that she knows her daughter hates it, but she does it because SHE knows mom wants it.
I've said it before, but really, most of these kids are probably only involved in this because their unattractive moms are living vicariously.

I absolutely love these shows ... they're so delightfully tacky and such a guilty pleasure! On a more serious note, though ... aren't these mothers who tart their pre-school daughters up like $20 hookers afraid of the creeps, perverts and weirdos they might attract? Just sayin' ...

I saw part of an episode this weekend - I hadn't ever seen the show. All I can say is wow. I felt so bad for those little girls. It's hard for me to believe people actually do this to their own daughters. smh

It's terrible.
Those kids get away with it because really, mom couldn't care less what they say as long as they get up on stage and do their routines.
It's like, I don't care if you tell me to shut up, cry, scream, whatever, as long as you do this pageant at the end of the day.
It works pretty well for them, until Daughter is a teen, no longer doing pageants (very few kids keep going with it) and STILL TALKING BACK TO HER.

That girl sounds like a demon, that Makenzie brat.
Why are they all name 6,000 variations of Mackenzie, Madison, Makinley, and the like? UGH.
Moving on, why are they giving away living things as prizes? That's just wrong. No child should win a puppy. What if the family is not prepared to bring that dog home?
Also I'd like to ask the woman who is the producer or whatever of La Maison de Paris (or whatever) since she's from Louisiana and according to her French is "their native..." how much French she speaks. It seems like none other than the damn pageant title. I know there are many in the state who do speak French, she seems as though she has barely mastered English.

I know, right? If my kid won a puppy in ANY sort of event, I would say "no thanks." He/she would have to just be mad.
