Some groups don't "show" well in the first round of rush, but they get better as it goes on and they don't have to keep trying to be all things to all people. I agree, continue and see how things go. If it gets to be pref time and you TRULY don't feel it with either group - leaving reputations aside - drop out then.

100% agree with 33girl.

A lot of us who have posted our recruitment stories have had heavy cuts and still ended up in places that turned out to be good for each of us. Just hang in there.

shocking pink: I do admit that I went to this house nervously because now that I was down to two houses, and I really wanted to find some sort of connection. I happened to find one. The first girl I talked to was so nice and refreshing and the last two were great as well. The second girl, was awkward and seem detached and sort of uninterested but I didn't let that affect my confidence level. The skit was high energy even though it wasn't much of a skit. This house is gorgeous and fun and I can actually see myself in it.

macaroni and cheese: This house asked me back even though I placed it as my 3rd choice, and I feel like its because they need members because they are the smallest chapter. I actually had a great connection with 3 of the girls. I could sense that they were more nervous than I was and that was a little weird. But their skit was actually a skit and it was very well done. I actually liked this house and I don't understand why alot of people don't.

So at the end I ended up ranking both as my number one becuase I didn't get invited back to more than four houses. But I really am worried that one of them (mainly shocking pink) will cut me so I really won't have a chance to make a decision. I am trying to keep and open mind but ALOT of girls that speculate or are actually in my situation would rather drop out of rush than to pref macaroni and cheese and even though the chapter is small, I can kinda sense a genuine sisterhood and I wish that their stereotypes weren't so intrusive and unified.

I'm between a rock and a hard place right now, but I'll know what is going to happen tomorrow.
From the outside, it sounds like you have two houses with potential. Maybe not exactly the houses you expected, but you made connections and they each did something to impress you. TriDeltaSallie made a great point- membership does last a lifetime. Also consider that sometimes a smaller house can give you opportunities you wouldn't otherwise have with larger houses. I joined a smaller house (with some reservations) but was able to have incredible leadership opportunities that I otherwise wouldn't have had. So every choice really does have its pros and cons. I hope they both invite you back so you can get to know them even better. Good luck!

Good for you for sticking with the process and continuing to see what Macaroni & Cheese is like. Best of luck to you!

So im going through philanthropy round, regardless, with an open mind.
Good for you! You could very well wind up in the midst of your best college experience.
