I have been fascinated by this story. Nothing new from my days as a collegian and I'm older than dirt. I remember the songs that were sung, however, I guess what shocked me was the language. Otherwise, very creative! The stupid part, not understanding WWW.

Yeah, at least they did show some lowbrow wittiness, instead of just saying OMG EVERYONE BESIDES US IS JUST SKANKY AND GROSS. I mean, no offense Tri Deltas, but the Sea World comment is funny. I'd say the same if they said something about ASA to the effect of "you've got ladybugs and we're the can of Raid."

And for the girls who say they don't have any songs like this...maybe you need to pledge more sarcastic girls. Or hang out with the ones you did pledge. My Big2 made up a hilarious one about our rival sorority but I'm sure most of the chapter doesn't know it.

God love you and your willingness to poke a little fun at yourself!

A to be fair, some girls have been freaked out by Hannah as she is sometimes represented by a Raggedy Ann doll and that freaks out people with clown issues.

Well, the Johnny Cupcakes incident made it into the pages of the Anchora as a learning example. Perhaps this one will too, as an example of "Don't do this".

Considering we used RA as well and I was the only one who didn't gasp when another sister called her "wimpy" (actually, I agreed a little bit) I think anything too cutesy is ripe for parody. It seems to have gotten worse in the recent years. If anyone would have referred to me as a "baby [fill in the mascot here]" when I was a pledge I think I would have barfed right on their shoes.

I'll second that!

Realistically, what do y'all feel might be - and not should be - the punishment (if any) for the women responsible for the video?

I call for a writ of "girls will be girls" and a slap on the wrist.

An apology for bad taste would be appropriate.

No makeup or fake bake at fraternity parties/bars for a month. Get Medieval!!

If they do get terminated, I guess they'll find out if they're popular for themselves or popular because of the sorority they're in. Won't that be a fun afterschool special for everyone?

Have them record a new video lauding all the chapters on campus. Maybe to the song "We are Family" or "R-E-S-P-E-C-T". They obviously can write parodies, so it shouldn't be so hard.

And I'm only half-joking. The punishment would not only fit the crime, but it would be a lesson in both humility and Panhellenic spirit.

I know in many of the chapters on my campus, the women involved (NOT the chapter) would be put on social probation - no social events (formal, exchanges), no voice in chapter, and some kind of educational punishment - like a presentation on chapter representation and the media. Does the punishment work? Probably not. But it's something.

I think they should have to perform it exactly as the original during Greek Week in the talent contest.

I concur!!! I am pretty new here and was fairly recently initiated. We were never called Baby ADPIs or Baby lions, etc. ALthough we weren't called pledges, for the most part, we were called alphas and the alpha class. The first time I heard this it was actually at another chapter's philanthropy project and although I thought it was cute for about the forst two girls that were introduced that way. After about the fifth it was down right annoying and they announced hteir WHOLE PC this way, and then a few girls from other chapters that were participating in their philanthropy project. However I was called a Baby ADPi a few weeks ago by a woman in another GLO that I was being introduced to. This was after I had been initiated for a month and honestly I was down right offended.
