I read once that Courtney Thorne-Smith left Ally McBeal because the directors were constantly telling the women other than Calista Flockhart that they were "obese".

Quite honestly I was shocked to read this on Yahoo. She was so young!
I'm so tired of hearing about young actors and actresses dying.
I'm gonna have to go with what others said and guess that an eating disorder was a "part" of her dying so young.
I read that the police are investigating, so I'm sure an autopsy will be performed.

She was married? I just an article at huliq news (whatever that is) and it said that her husband, Simon Monjack, was refusing an autopsy, but the LA coronor has overruled him. It also states that her mother said Brittany was a diabetic.
Curiouser and curiouser...
ETA: Simon Monjack sounds a bit, well, sketchy.

Hmm that is sketchy, but the ME has the right to order an autopsy if it is under suspicious circumstances. A 32 yeah old women dying of cardiac arrest would qualify.

I just read that her husband doesn't want her body to be autopsied...I definitely thought that was kind of sketchy. I also read that her mom told the EMTs that she had a history of diabetes, so that's something I never knew.
It's so sad =[

Not sketchy at all, actually. Autopsies are nasty. I've seen one. I wouldn't want my loved one to undergo one, either, if it could be helped.

If my loved one was 32 when they died and they hadn't been sick, I damn sure would scream for an autopsy. Not only that, what made them them is no longer in that container.

I'd guess the cause of death is pretty clear to her loved ones. Unless there's overt suspicion of foul play, it's likely just going to confirm what they already suspect, which a.) removes Mom's plausible deniability and b.) sucks from a "cutting her up" standpoint.

Well yeah, maybe. But when they try to put the kibosh on the autopsy it just makes them (esp the husband) look super sketchy.
I was going through a bunch of old magazines last night and just randomly opening them, kept hitting articles on/quotes from Brittany Murphy. FREEEEEEEEAKY

I just meant I don't think it's sketchy for him to object to an autopsy at first, immediately after his wife died. The shock and emotional turmoil at that point makes it hard to think clearly. He has now said that he knows an autopsy must be done and that he does want to know what the cause of death was. But he had to have some time to see things that way.

I need for TBS to play Clueless soon. Its been about... a month or so?
I didn't know Uptown Girls was one of her more known/recognized movies. Nor did I realize she has been in so many movies-Dont Say a Word, Girl, Interrupted, 8 Mile, Little Black Book (which I watched a couple weeks ago-funny!)... and a bunch others.
I liked her-wasnt super Hollywood in my opinion, but all this surrounding her death is going to be interesting.

Everything I read said that the autopsy "was" scheduled for Monday or Tuesday. No explanation, nothing to say her husband refused anything.

A heart murmur doesn't cause anything--it's actually a symptom. There's lots of different types and could be benign or could be a symptom of heart disease, weak valves, etc. They're talking about it on the news right now. Her mom found her unconscious in the shower, autopsy pending toxicology, etc. I didn't know her home used to belong to Britney Spears, though (the newscaster mentioned the neighbors being used to reporters swarming that house).
ETA: Does anyone else have a huge feeling of deja vu? This feels like Heath Ledger all over again.

I felt the same way too. Kinda like Heath Ledger mixed with when I heard Aaliyah died. Though she died in a crash (right?), it was still pretty left field and I was in a bit of disbelief.
Of course, back then, I found out through word of mouth and the local newspaper, and still was in disbelief. I don't know why, almost 10 years later, the same type of news breaks via TMZ and Twitter yet I believed it instantly.
