you can thank Trina and Lil Kim for that, amongst others. i do enjoy the phrase "that's a bad bitch!"

Multicultural. Yes I get it's important in the classroom but I'm so sick of hearing about it every single class I take!
can we add words like "praxis," "diasporic" and "marginalized?"

as long as i can keep "socioeconomic," im good.

praxis and marginalized I'll give you. I haven't come across diasporic though so I'm not sure on that one... I'd also like to nominate No Child Left Behind as I spent a whole semester talking about it in one class.

I wish people would just say "NCLB" instead of "Nickle-B". I can't stand "Nickle-B."

Nickle-B sounds like someone is talking about Nickelback. Since NCLB and Nickelback are the two suckiest things yet to come out of the 21st century, I see the connection.

I have never heard it called Nickle-B. Interesting... I can sort of see where it comes from but agree that it sounds like nickleback.

It might just be a CA thing...although at conferences, I've heard the term used by people from other states.

ETA: I am watching the news right now, and I cannot STAND the phrase "GUNNED DOWN." Horrible!

I'm still pretty new to this education thing so I'm sure it's just the fact that I haven't come across it yet I also hate when they talk about teaching to standards. It just makes me so sad.
