California students can take out loans just like everyone else.
Why does this keep getting repeated as if CA students don't take out loans? The cost of living is so high (especially in SF and other metro areas) that pretty much all income goes to food, gas, bills, and rent. Unless you're in a JC or got a full ride, I hear (from friends who stayed local) that a loan seems to be a must.
