Letters Question

Okay, so I've been told two different things and I was wondering if anyone could help me out given that I can't find anything in the national bylaws about mothers being considered sweethearts and therefore allowed to wear stitched letters. I've been told both sides, and since I can't confirm it, I'm just wondering what everyone's take on it is. Thanks.

Ask your son. Knowing the awesome guys at the KY Eta chapter, I'm sure they'd be more than willing to allow you to wear any screen printed letters. I'm not sure about their stitched letter policy, though. The policy about females wearing letters is different with every chapter.

Actually, I just found something from one of their Brothers:

"At our chapter (Kentucky Eta), the rule is that a female can wear our letters if they are screen printed on a garment, similar to our SigEp G!rl "I Love College" shirt. If they are stitched letters (embroidered or otherwise attached to the garment by threads), she (a) must be our chapter's Queen of Hearts OR (b) lavaliered by one of our brothers. If you're unaware, the concept of "lavaliering" seems to be somewhat antiquated by today's standards, but according to those we've asked, it is the Greek version of a promise ring."
