I have been remembering my dreams way too often for the past couple of months. It's pretty exhausting sometimes. I've remembered most of them for the past 2 weeks. Weird, isn't it?

I've heard that you remember them if you wake up during them.

They still don't always stick, in my experience. If I don't tell someone about them first thing, they fade away.

I usually remember mine, because they are general nightmares. When I was little I had genuine night terrors and now I have nightmares, but they are extremely vivid and detailed, and I can remember the setting (which is almost always huge and not a place I've seen before, though it's usually made up of houses/buildings/locations I've been to all mashed together) from one I had last week right now.
Yep. It's always nice to start the day after a dream about your whole family dying. Why my subconscious is apparently seriously depressed is beyond me.

I had another dream about my sister going through recruitment. She was actually warming up to the idea and kept telling me all of her pre-conceived notions about the different chapters. She used really weird code names that didn't stick to any specific theme. I know one of them was "Singapore." Then she decoded them and they all matched up with the chapters her school really does have in real life. Weird!
Oh man, oh man, I wish she'd just go through recruitment! She's so stubborn.

In my dream last night I stole my sister's horse and went galloping through Civil War era New York City. Totally bizarre. I don't even ride.

I keep dreaming each of my family members die. Each night it's a different person.

Don't despair! I'm no dream expert, but death dreams are among the easiest ones to understand. When someone dies in your dream, it *usually* signals the figurative death of part of you.
You just have to think about what has changed in your life and how you've been affected. Did you recently move? Did you lose a job? Did you have a falling out with a friend? Did you come to realize you're not the person you thought you were? And so on.
Repetitive dreams are just your mind's way of working something out. It might be that you need to come to terms with something or it could also mean that your healing is taking some time.

So as not to make an incredibly long post, I'm doing this one separately.
I had a dream last week that I still remember now. I was going into a movie theater, but it was high tech, I guess you could say. It also had a cool feature where you sat on padded high-back reclining benches and could adjust the space width to accommodate additional people or belongings.
Moving right along, once everyone was seated the back rows began to elevate into the shape of an auditorium. Then the entire room glided forward into a huge cylindrical tube thing (like the senate building in Star Wars lol) where you would watch your movie on a gigantic screen.
The weird part went as follows. I was there with a friend (someone I don't actually know in real life) and she was whispering to me during the previews. She would say "Oh that looks good" and things like that. I would just nod and say "mhmm."
Unfortunately, the guy sitting to my right was pissed that we were talking so he started yelling at us. All the other men in the theater started to stand up, but I told them it was ok.
Then, I said to the guy, "It's just the previews. We'll keep quiet during the movie." Then, he stood up and punched me in the stomach. I lost my breath for a couple of seconds and then, with a raised voice but not quite yelling, I said "Did anybody see that?!?!?! He just punched me!!"
At that point, all the men jumped out of their seats. A crowd of them came and hauled the guy off and I enjoyed the rest of the movie.

1. You have no idea @the bolded. Hell, at all of this.
2. They are no less sad and disturbing. Oof, esp the one about my mom. I think that was the hardest when I woke up. When I saw her, I threw myself at her and refused to let go for eons.

Lol that post was almost a year ago. I had to go back and look at it.
And yes, a lot was changing around that time (my birthday). Roles of all my family members were shifting as we were going through a huge transition as a family. Your post made a lot of sense.

I had a weird dream a couple of nights ago. I was an undergrad. There was a psycho girl who was causing trouble for me and trying to get me in trouble with the law (framing me for crimes she committed etc). So the administration and the police ( ) decided that the correct resolution was to transfer BOTH of us to some no-name college - the same no-name college. I swore to fight to stay at the school where I was, and to land my opponent in jail - or in a community college. Then I woke up.
The funny thing is, I described this dream to my husband, and he told me that, on the same night, he'd had a dream where the school was trying to revoke his degrees retroactively for no discernible reason.
God. We've been married too long.
