11. There was no year zero -- the year after 1 BC (BCE) is AD 1 (1 CE). So the first century (and the first decade of that century) started with the year 1, the second century with the year 101, the third century with the year 201, etc., until you get to the 21st century (and the third millenium) starting in 2001. Likewise, the second decade started in 11, the third in 21, etc.
