We just found out that the baby boy of 2 dear friends of ours, who had Peter (their first) in October, has cancer. They (our friends) decided not to tell anyone right away, but a tumor on his spine and ribs was removed in December, and he started chemo last week. Lots of prayers and positive energy would be appreciated for baby Peter (who is at a NE Ohio hospital).

And I'm saying (many) prayers of thanks for having 2 healthy children.

Next Monday and Tuesday are going to be rough.

One of my coworkers son's was diagnosed with DSRCT, a rare tumor in his abdomen. His surgery is scheduled for monday.

My stepdad has cancer of ampulla of vater. His surgery is Tuesday. We'll know if its spread to his lymph nodes that day.

Both are extremely long and complicated surgeries. I'm not much of a religious person but I will be praying very hard for those two days. I will ask that you also include them in your prayers.

I'm having a lot of family issues right now and having a rough time at home. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it, and it's really stressing me out.

In a perfect world, no child would ever be sick. It grieves me to hear about Peter, and I will pray for him.

Woot for found rings & healings & graceful deaths! I've been in geriatrics enough to see possibly hundreds of people "select" the day they die.

jenny, you don't have to be a religious person (fwiw, I don't consider myself a religious person), just ask for grace in spite of not being familiar with your God, and ask for successful surgeries. Not one of us could ever pray enough to warrent the graces of the Almighty! (and I"d pray for your own peace, too!)

Well, in addition to Peter (who had a chemo treatment yesterday), please add my friend Angie. She confided in me yesterday that she was diagnosed with full blown uterine cancer in October, had a full hysterectomy in December (except for part of one egg, to help keep her from going through menopause), and finds out on Monday if it's spread elsewhere. She just turned 30 last July, and has 2 little girls.

First surgery went well! The majority of the tumor is out! He lost a lot of blood and will be in the ICU for the next two days. Lots of texts from his mom today.

Tomorrow is my stepdads. I"m sick to my stomach about it because I'm an idiot and looked up the stats on it.

My dads surgery went well! He's in a lot of pain right now but my mom said hes been teasing the nurses so thats good news. The lymph nodes looked good so hopefully the cancer hasn't spread!

The kid that had surgery on Monday is now out of the ICU and walking around.
