I guess they do it at UCSD, too. One of my chapter sisters transferred there and said something about it on her Facebook. She better post pictures!

UCSD Presents are semi-formals, not beautiful garden parties, unfortunately. SDSU Presents, IIRC, are exchanges with fraternities (like what they refer to as Presents on Greek )

Presents was determined to be hazing by some of our higher up advisors a few years ago. So the name was changed.

We do have a New Member exam, which isn't hazing. But any kind of testing outside of the national exam is hazing.

Our SDSU chapter held a Presents brunch for parents at the House of Hospitality in Balboa Park this fall, to commemorate the chapter's 60th anniversary. Before San Diego State had houses on Montezuma Mesa, the chapter met for meetings at Balboa Park!

How cool. I grew up in SD and went to Balboa all the time with my dad.

I enjoyed reading your daughter's story! Congrats to her & DG.

I know this thread is a bit old, but I'll be rushing at USC in the fall (second time), and GC has been a great resource in helping me feel more prepared this time around. I'll admit, I went in pretty clueless last time.
