US News and World Reports publishes an annual issue in which they rate the top graduate schools in the country. I think this year's came out a month or two ago but your local library can help you get your hands on a copy.

I'm not sure what kind of grades you have, but if you are interested in the Tier 1 schools, Yale is consistently ranked in the top three and Harvard in the top five. Both, of course, are in New England. As far as Virginia, the best school there in undoubtedly the University of Virginia (in Charlottesville) and Georgetown University which, although not technically in Virginia, is right across the Potomac river from Virginia! Both of these schools are in the top ten as well.

Good luck in your endeavor and keep us posted!
