There were lots of different hand signs, I know I saw the Delta Sigma Theta pyramid in at least one picture or I wouldn't have made that statement. It may be an older picture and someone told them it was not okay.

They were NOT doing our (unofficial) handsign the way that most of us do it.

This is only ADPi's bone to pick.

Did you look through all the pictures, I swear I saw it in one. Maybe it was on someone's page and not the main group page photo albums. I'm not going to go back and look, I already wasted 30 minutes of my life being horrified.

Regardless, it be tacky!

I still can't help but get a little angry when I think about it. Just so very disappointed.

I know that i'm not an ADPi, but if you all had any issues or questions about this group it would have been nice if you all could have asked me about it. I could have told you all everything

Yes, this group did call themselves the Adelphean Society originally (why they call themselves "new" instead of Nu, I don't know however). The group was started to eventually become affiliated with an NPC. When they started they wanted to be affiliated with ADPi, thus why they called themselves the Adelphean Society. When I got back to campus, the GL advisor at the time (an AGD btw, who some on GC know personally) had me talk to them. They are very sweet girls who obviously were just a little misguided.

They aren't like the Kappa Kappa Gamma copycats who just want to use the names, symbols, etc just to use them. They do really want to be affiliated with an NPC. They did change their name to New Delta, and i'm pretty sure I know their reasons why. I didn't know that their motto and things were the same as ADPi, and I might speak to the current GL advisor about it tomorrow at our AP meeting.

Delta isn't an official greek letter?

I'm sure it's not a coincidence. That said, Adelphian was once a fairly common name for college literary societies and similar organizations.

Again, though, I don't think this is a coincidence at all, and I can completely understand the feelings of the ADPis here.

I meant NEW isn't a greek letter and they still use an n in their wooden letters making it seem as if it was NU DELTA rather than NEW DELTA
