Bid Night!
The next day was such a long and agonizing wait. I checked my phone every few moments for any missed calls. By a certain time, I was certain that they would have already called and I was safe. However, I still had to worry. What did my bid card say? Was I to be a
Full House or a
Boy Meets World? With all of my heart, I hoped for
Full House.
Our rho gamma asked what sorority we thought she belonged to. Our guess was
Sabrina or
7th Heaven. The rho gammas (and Panhellenic council) went up and waited to reveal. Our rho gamma was in the first group which easily was the largest amount. They unzipped their sweatshirts to reveal their
Sabrina shirts!
We watched as the other groups unzipped and revealed with tense smiles. We had eagerly awaited for the chance to find out their affiliations, but it wasn't important anymore. We all just wanted to go to the quad to open our bids.
When we walked onto the quad, we were greeted by all four sororities screaming and cheering. I looked over at the
Full House girls and the
Boy Meets World girls. I had met a lot of great girls in
Boy Meets World but my heart was with
Full House. I could only hope that they felt the same way. I was preparing myself for the "worst scenario". In any case, I knew that I had received a bid. The only question was where to...
I told myself that if I was to find my bid contained an invitation to join
Boy Meets World that I wouldn't allow myself to cry. I knew that I'd be heartbroken but I couldn't, COULDN'T cry. I knew girls who had their heart set on
Boy Meets World and the wonderful women in
Boy Meets World who loved their sorority. I didn't want them to be hurt by me crying which I knew would be a petty and rude impression to make. In any case, I would join a wonderful sorority. Still, it's hard to be logical when your heart wants something so badly.
We were given our envelopes to place on our forehead. I knew that I would find a bid inside. Where would I run to? Minutes ticked by slowly. This was what I had been waiting for all weekend. This was it...
It was only a few more moments before we could open the bids. We all ripped the envelopes open and read quickly. At first, I couldn't believe it.
BAHAHAH!
I'll stop here for now
