Recruitment Themes

Hi, my name is Maggie, I am a sister in Daytona Beach FL Alpha Tau...and I am the newly elected recruitment chair....I was hoping to get some help with recruitment themes and general ideas on what works and what doesn't....I would appreciate any suggestions....thanks a bunch!

We have a "Hollywood" theme party that works really well- we all wear cocktail dresses and serve shirley temples and little appetizers. Our rec. chair purchased a long piece of red fabric and we use it as the red carpet, and then we decorate the suite with old-school hollywood decor, and lots of string-lights. It looks very pretty and it's nice to get dressed up right before pref night as well. Classy is the word, I guess :-)

Wow I really like the Hollywood theme idea...and I am also looking for some ideas because I'm going to be running for recruitment chair here (Muskingum College). In the past, we've had Welcome to Paradise...where it's all about sunshine and being on vacation. This year, we had Welcome to the Jungle. We wore animal print one night, camo another, etc etc...we also had animal crackers, jello jigglers, and trail mix for refreshments.

Hey!

So I need help thinking of some themes for 3 night and one day rush. The saying on our shirts is "Fall for Lambda Kappa Pi" It has a tree with leaves falling off of it...so someone could interpret this as Fall rush 2009, or like falling in love for our sorority. So I could have the theme falling in love? but i dont have enough to do for three night and one day rush. Most of our rush events consist of name game, 2 activities, then maybe a craft for a philanthropy then the night is over. I am definitely open to making it a lot more exciting haha!

I do have some ideas for a hula game and stuff...just an idea. and possibly a mixer with a fraternity.
