I think this is a case of needing to define terms - "birth control" being the term subject to two definitions. "Birth control" - meaning any means to prevent a birth is one thing; by that definition, yes all abortion is a form of birth control, regardless of health issues or rape. A birth is prevented.

The second meaning being used here is a bit fuzzy to me - if rape or health concerns negate abortion as "birth control" - what do you mean by "birth control"?

eta - And yes, I see in reviewing the thread that the idea of rape or health concerns being a factor was in fact introduced by cheerfulgreek.

That's what I want to know. I'm sure he knows by now and where is he?

I'd also hate for this to become the "lets debate abortion" thread, because very few people can really have a logical debate about the topic. It just ends up being stupid.
Ditto, because I'm not changing my views on abortion.

I assumed she really meant "back-up" birth control, for when your "first line" birth control fails.

Y'know, intelligent discussion often isn't really about trying to change anyone's views on the topic; it's about understanding -- really understanding -- the views of someone who sees things differently from you.

But I agree. Intelligent discussion isn't likely in this thread.

I agree, but on greekchat period, intelligent discussions are highly unlikely.

Well you're obviously doing a lot to change that perceived issue, what with the liberal use of the "eyeroll smiley."

Just wondering - you have so many issues with this site and the people on it, why do you even post?
