I think this is a case of needing to define terms - "birth control" being the term subject to two definitions. "Birth control" - meaning any means to prevent a birth is one thing; by that definition, yes all abortion is a form of birth control, regardless of health issues or rape. A birth is prevented.
The second meaning being used here is a bit fuzzy to me - if rape or health concerns negate abortion as "birth control" - what do you mean by "birth control"?
eta - And yes, I see in reviewing the thread that the idea of rape or health concerns being a factor was in fact introduced by cheerfulgreek.
