So many of his movies transcend generations, especially The Breakfast Club. That was a movie that everybody could relate to in some way and now my daughter and her friends love it and can relate to it also.

But aren't they known as "John Hughes Movies" or "Brat Pack Movies"? I just can't get my head around it.
I work next to the Sears Tower, and every day I go to work I think of Ferris Bueller's Day Off. It was the first movie I ever owned on DVD - I got it and the Goonies the same day. My dad quotes from that movie like it's his job. I can't imagine not knowing it was a John Hughes movie.
And I'm only 25 - so the only movies that actually came out while I was watching movies were the Home Alone and newer. I watched most John Hughes movies on TBS.
