Typically the night of Preference on campuses that use RFM, the panhellenic will set a quota range. If they are using ICS, they will put the low end of quota range as the quota number in ICS - that does not mean quota will be that number. It means it will not be less than that number. Last night in ICS, quota was set at 49.
When we were called by Panhellenic last night regarding our number we were told that quota was set at 53. I can let everyone know absolutely 100% for certain when I receive the RFM report for this campus.

I got my RFM report today and quota was officially 53.

No PNM should receive her second choice when she was on the quota list for her first choice. That is the reason for quota additions. I, also, cannot understand how everyone can be over quota unless someone who was under did snap bids.

THere are no longer quota additions as we used to know them. Auburn does use ICS for their recruitment so bids are computer matched. RFM allows for a "quota range" to be initially set. Once all the cards and lists are in, the computer program adjusts that so that the maximum number of women are placed - without regard for the original lowest number in the quota range. So it is incorrect to say that someone had to snap bid to quota in this case.
Quota, in RFM, is a floating number that is used to ensure that all women, if possible, are placed. Under RFM, the only women left with no bids are the ones who single preference if they can list more when their choice is equalizd with everyone else. The program penalizes you if you do that. The only time that doesn't happen is if the campus guarantees everyone at pref a bid. In that scenario, they will place you where you want. Most campuses do not do that as the whole purpose is to get you to maximize your choices and keep your options open. In other words, everything you knew about quota setting and quota additions before RFM, toss it out the window. It no longer is relevant.

I don't know who those boys were or who the flowers were for. My assumption is that they were for their girlfriends or their sisters. It was very sweet of them to show up, especially with flowers! They were not the only ones with flowers though perhaps they were the youngest. Many fathers were holding flowers for their daughters as well! I am so glad that Auburn welcomes families to bid day. It really is a special thing to be able to be there and see the excitement!

BlueCarnation--That's exactly what I was thinking! I kind of like the way recruitment goes in the South...at the very least it's WAY warmer. I shudder to remember recruitment last year

Its just like any sorority house...some girls live there but not all of them. The chapter room and kitchen are on the bottom floor and the suites are upstairs..the suites are 4 bedroom/2 bathrooms, not sure how many suites each sorority gets but there are several.
