LSU DGs
OK- I know this sounds like I'm bragging BUT...
I just got back from the formal and I have to say I have NEVER been so impressed with a group of young ladies in my life! They had their formal in the City Club (somebody had connections) and in the atmosphere of that old historic architecture, the candelabra lighting and the scent of roses in the air...it was almost mystical. The girls literally floated in their white formals and the fathers in their tuxedo looked so very handsome. The young men were so polished and the parents were as gracious as the "Old South" would promise. Grandmothers who shared the legacy were sprinkled throughout the room. It was like a storybook. Just had to share a beautiful evening of beautiful young women with their sisters.
Would LOVE to read about the other formals. I hope some of you will share!

The forum needed a wake up call, so I thought I'd step in...
Our formals are pretty low key. I go to a school in the mid-atlantic, so there isn't all of the pomp and circumstance of the South. In the winter for our Golden Anchor Ball the dresses are a little more fancy - sequins, long dresses, puffy skirts, etc. In the spring however, it's a little more laid back - girls generally wear nice cocktail dresses, and the guys wear suits to both formals. We sometimes have a sit-down dinner followed by dancing, or else a buffet. We generally rent out a ballroom at a hotel in the city but it has been held at country clubs on occasion.
It's not really a huge event, but we always have a great time!

Sounds amazing!
Justamom - so glad to hear that they're such a great example of the exemplary DGs across the nation. Question - is this a formal for the parents as well? If so, I've just never heard of that - beyond the typical Parents weekend activities or Mom or Dad's day events...
Yay for LSU DGs!

They treat it like a debutante party........"coming out". It's just the parents of the new members. Some grandparents were there too. I also am guessing that some relatives that are DGs, perhaps alums, were there as well. Not to worry though, the parents left about 8:30 so they could relax and enjoy the rest of the evening.

These are a few shots of the girls in their dresses. The guy was having trouble with his camera and the flash that night so a few are missing. They had backup though.
Actually, they have lost photos more than once.

Oh my - they are beautiful! I believe that the USC DGs do "Presents" - which is similar to this event. How fun!
I'm glad to see your daughter is having such a wonderful experience

SO sad Carnatin! The first third of the girls didn't get the shot. HA HA-now everyone knows I'm not a Kowalski or Smith!!!
They had plenty of people with cameras and one of the Moms is sending me one. Actually, every one was pretty miffed. It failed on their picnic much-much WORSE! Hopefully-the guy will break down and get another camera. I wish I could see pictures from other DGs-Though my daughter doesn't post on GC, I send her posts from y'all and she does love to visit yor DG web pages.

The pictures are stunning! Looks like it was a wonderful evening. We here at Eta Delta (Univ. of North FL) just recently had our Spring Formal. The theme was "This Magic Moment". We had a magician and lots of cute "magic" decorations. Everyone looked wonderful, and the hotel where it was held was absolutely spectacular. I had a blast
