'The Hangover' is pretty much the only movie I've seen lately that I loved. It takes a lot to get me to laugh at a movie, and I was pretty much in hysterics during this one.

Spending money on something you don't like is bad. What's worse is knowing you wasted 2-3 hours of your life watching it.

Oh, I forgot about Public Enemies. That was really good.

I want to see 'Pelham 123' and 'Public Enemies'. However, I don't go to the movies that often, so I'll probably just wait for them to come out on DVD.

I'm stoked.

I'm actually curious about this movie. This might be one I'd actually see in theaters (only after reading at least 10 reviews and talking to 5 people who have seen it). Going back to that whole spending money/wasting my time thing... I really don't like to do it if I don't have to.

I like a smart comedy or drama. I'm not one for a huge blockbluster. Blowing things up or special effects don't really impress me. Somebody just wasted a bunch of money and too much time on their computer. I'd rather see a great story line or witty conversation that took some actual talent to write, not just $ or a computer.

I still need to see Adventureland!
And I agree with your second statement to some extent. I watched 'Independence Day' (for about the 20th time) a couple weeks ago, and that movie will never get old for me. Yes, there were some special effects and explosions and all that fun stuff, but it wasn't over the top. It's nice when the actors actually do the majority of the acting, rather than computer generated robots. ::ahem:: Transformers.
If they're going to continue to make these action-packed blockbusters, they need to create less of the comic book hero flicks, and more of the Indiana Jones/Diehard/Lethal Weapon type movies. And no, I don't want them to continue to remake these. I want to see something new! .. because most of the time, sequels are disappointing.
Oh, but Terminator 2 was actually amazing. And still is.
And if you want my idea of some good summer blockbusters over the years... how about 'The Sixth Sense', 'Forrest Gump', and 'Jurassic Park' (another one that will never get old for me). And a few older ones, some of which came out a few summers before I was born... 'Top Gun', 'Jaws', 'ET', 'Back to the Future'...
Just because computers can do extraordinary things nowadays, it doesn't mean they have to create/enhance every last aspect of a movie.
