I thought the exact same thing! haha
Janette and Brandon were amazing. I know little to nothing about dance, but I just knew that their tango was incredible. It's one of those dances where you have to nail it. And they definitely did.
I was really happy that Jeanine did well last night and actually received some praise from the judges. As I've said before, I think her dancing has always been "hidden" behind Phillip. If he does a hip hop routine, he's amazing and you watch him. If he gets something else, you still watch him to see whether or not he's going to get things right. I'm glad they had a good dance together that wasn't in Phillip's style.
Kayla... Again, I don't much like her and don't understand why the judges think she's so much better than everyone else. But... I did like her and Kupono's first dance last night. Mia Michaels is definitely different, and generally, I don't like her choreography. But when I do like it, I love it.
And one more thing about Kayla... the judges always say how beautiful she is and I've always thought that every other girl on the show looked better than her. But this week, I actually thought that she looked good... because she wasn't wearing 5 pounds of makeup! I'm sorry, but when you have fair skin and very blonde hair, you don't wear thick, black eyeliner around your entire eye.

I'm pretty upset about phillip, I know that he has had some trouble in the other styles but he was only hip hoper on the show. I dont watch a show of all contemporary solos.

It's sad to see him go, but I don't think this was the right competition for him. Although, I don't forsee him struggling to find other opportunities to show off his dance skills after the exposure he's had on SYTYCD.

I was surprised by the bottom three last night. I definitely don't think it was the right one, although the results probably would have been the same.
I wasn't surprised they lost Caitlyn...I'm bummed, but I kinda figured she was going. I was, however, surprised they didn't ditch Jason.
Except for Janette, it's all contemporary/ballet//broadway people in the Top 10 and I think that's really boring as those styles tend to blend together. I know it's not the Judges fault that there are so many strong contemporary dancers who audition for the show, but I wish they had more people in the Top 20 who did other styles.

Is this the first year they're allowing dancers who didn't make the Top 10 to go on the tour?
I'm sad to see Caitlyn go, but considering who she was up against, I knew she was gone even before her solo. And from what Nigel said last night (about the judges knowing who the bottom three were earlier in the day), it sounded like his mind was already made up before the solos.

This isnt the first time dancers not in the top 10 make it on the tour. They go on the tour as swings, or as understudies and they preform when they are needed. I know for the season 3 tour my favorite shauna noland was on the tour but she got elimanted in the top 14.

They always take an extra guy and an extra girl on tour as back ups. It's not always the last two dancers that are eliminated, though.

Thoughts on the new couples? My favorite dance was Jason and Jeanine's (probably because I love that song)

That was incredible. I have already gone back and watched it two more times.
I have also watched the Bollywood dance a few times, though I must admit that I have no idea the technical aspects of that dance. It just looked great on stage.
I really like all of the women left, but suspect that Randi will be leaving and perhaps Kapuno from the guys side, since the judges weren't too favorable on their dance.
It was fun to see Jeanine with a new partner. She is really, really, talented.

I think that Randi is toast now that she doesn't have Evan's fanbase to support her. Guys... I honestly have no idea. For some reason I think it may be Ade, but I really hope I'm wrong.

And gorgeous! I know Kayla's supposed to be the pretty one this season, but every time I see Janine, I can't get over how beautiful she is.

I am a Jeanine fan, too! I think Randi is going home - but not sure about the boys.
I really like Debbie Allen but kind of chuckled at some of her more 'touchy feelie' critiques. She really waxed poetic at times!
