That reference annoys me, in general, but I thinks it's better for whites to use it than for nonwhites. It's another one of those sayings that should remain intraracial.
Context clues....

That flew over her head.

(It shouldn't have, which makes me wonder about CutiePie2000.)

I ducked in during work - I didn't have time to read it that closely.

Close enough to think that someone thought Michael Jackson was singing about a "pretty white thang."

But, I guess it wouldn't be Greekchat if people weren't making broad, unfair statements about one of the political parties.

ETA: When you make statements like that, you're no better than the Rush Limbaugh's of the world who seek to demonize the other party. Saying that the Republican leadership is a bunch of racists is at best, unfair.
I seriously doubt you would recognize the racism anyway. You would be biased.

Do some research and you will see what I referring to about Facebook and the Republican party.

And no, i don't think all conservatives are racist regardless of race. However, I have found that more than a few of the ones in leadership are racist. I would think that over the years with all the prominent Republicans who have been know for spouting racist sentiment or supporting racist legislation, people wouldn't still be questioning whether there is racism in the Republican party.

And it doesn't help that all of the white conservatives that I know are racist. I'm simply speaking from personal experience with respect to that.

I'd like to mark this as the first time in my life I've been called a racist...and by someone who doesn't even know me. Thanks a bunch.

I edited that statement because I realized it sounded that way. I meant the same Republican ideals. Sorry about that. I don't know enough about you to say you are racist, but from your comments on here I DO sense that you don't often recognize racism unless it is blatant.

So . . . he wouldn't recognize racism because he's "biased" in some way to prevent that recognition?

You realize this can be flipped easily to state you're "recognizing" racism in areas where it isn't because you are biased in some way toward that recognition, right?

And the justification of "Using some of your posts here ... ", coming from someone who routinely argues that others misinterpret or misconstrue her posts, seems somewhat ironic. Just saying.

Um it isn't unheard of for someone to be biased in their opinion of someone if they know them and/or like them.

Let me break it down for you. When someone constantly says that racism doesn't exist in a situation because it isn't blatant, then that person clearly has a problem recognizing subtle racism. Quite a few people on this board have tried to say that an incident that clearly had racist overtones was not racism. You don't always have to see a hood and sheet for there to be racism.

Where have I "constantly" said that racism didn't exist in a particular situation?

ETA: I looked back at the two most recent "race threads," and the only substantive comments I made were the following:

1) I disagreed with your labeling of Republican party leaders (where my precise issue is with your broad generalization about all Republican party leaders; I'm not disputing that there are racist individuals belonging to all political parties);

2) I tried to explain my understanding of why comments made to a white person wouldn't qualify as "racist."

3) I discussed emminent domain in response to one of AKA Monet's posts.

I don't see where I've "constantly" asserted that racism didn't exist.

ETA again: By two most recent "race threads," I mean this one and the one about the pool in the News and Politics thread. I only limit it to those threads because I can't think of other threads where I've been involved.
