I think I better order another set for grad school and verify which address they should go to. I just want to know for sure that I'm accepted although I'm not really worried because I meet the minimum criteria by a landslide.

I got word from them today that my transcripts did make it and I have been accepted Single mom, working full time, sorority volunteer and now grad student. The next five years are going to be very interesting. I think I'm half crazy, but the payoff at the end will be well worth it!

AGD: ME TOO!! Congrats!! I'm taking an online class, just to get my head back in the game. Since my duties have been changed, I now have a lot of free time at work and figured this was the sign that I need to get back into school. That also means that I need to buy a laptop, since mine died a while ago.
But I am still excited!! We can support each other!!

My whole program will be online, which will be interesting. The one thing I can't do is commit to being in a class at the same time every week so this is a great option for me. In addition to the Masters, I will also qualify to take the CISSP exam, a highly desirable IT security certification. In fact, I will qualify to take that after my first 6 courses and can get a graduate certificate at that point also. Therefore, if I'm completely and totally overwhelmed at that point, I can stop. But, I'm hoping I can handle it and finish it completely.

Well, I submitted the first paper today. My crappy computer wouldn't let me convert to Word 2007, so I had to type it in Google docs, then paste it into Word pad, save it, upload it, THEN submit it. But I turned it in AND answered the discussion question for this week. So now I have to read seven chapters in four days. Yep, welcome back to school.

I applied to 8 schools December 2008 & was accepted into 2. I will be starting a PhD program in biochem next month! I am nervous but excited to be "Dr" me in another 4-5 years!

Lol, I remember that feeling. Now that it's a reality though - it's actually really strange to be Dr ShyViolet. Best of luck with your postgrad studies.

It is funny to say it to people. But it never gets old to hear it, does it?

I'm also taking grad school completely online. Finishing up my 4th semester right now, 4 more to go. 2 classes a semester 8 weeks each....It's been a busy summer and I feel incredibly overwhelmed. I'm having a very pity party kind of "i hate grad school" moment. Blegh.

I *gasp* picked up my grad app a few weeks ago.
If all goes as planned, I'll soon be Violet, M. Ed.

The administrative assistant of East Carolina's Adult Education program emailed me today and said that first thing tomorrow morning, she is contacting the Graduate School to let them know that I can be admitted to the Adult Education masters program!!!
So hopefully this December, I'll have my grad certificate in Community College Instruction, and hopefully next December, it'll be my masters degree!!!
