Where to stay in New Orleans?

My niece married a guy from NO last weekend. The rehearsal dinner had a NO theme with hurricane drinks! One of the favors was a large plastic wine glass with a fluer-de-lis on it. Cool!

Don't really care of red beans and rice, shrimp etouffe, etc. but I LOVE beignets!
There is a place in Atlanta called Huey's that has the beignets...hmmm wonder if hubby would like to brunch there?? There used to be a Cafe du Monde at Underground Atlanta but I doubt it's there anymore. I never go to UA.


Thanks for those suggestions on places to stay. Maybe we'll go soon.

ETA: Good thing we didn't drive down there...Huey's is closed..hmmm Silver Skillet anyone? No beignets but wonderful food.
