On my campus there is a fraternity that has several guys that are 22-28 running around. The thing is, they were rushed as freshmen or sophomores. AND, they are normally alum who just hang out at the house on the weekend. I really don't think if they came to the house now, as students they would be considered because they won't have much time to dedicate to the fraternity. I know that most of the juniors and seniors are so swamped with school, they really only make it to big date parties and band parties, but they miss the day to day things, and miss out on just "hanging out at the house" with the other actives.

Even as a 24 year old freshman, you're going to have trouble at a lot of campuses, with a lot of organizations. People who successfully pledge at that age are the exception, not the rule.
