Have y'all been reading the backstory? Oxygen deprivation at birth left her with learning disabilities. She started singing as a way to deal with bullying and started singing in the church choir when she was 12. She stopped pursuing singing beyond church, karaoke and the like so that she could take care of her mother. She and her mother watched
Britain's Got Talent together and her mother kept telling her she should be on it. She stopped singing when her mother died in 2007, but decided to try out for the show. This was the first time she'd sung in public since her mother died. Now she has a shot at singing for the Queen.
It's just such a great story all around.
