Actually there is.

If you are a single mother, once the youngest child is 18, you get off.

But still it's not cut and dry.

In some cases you can't even get ON unless you sign up for a work program.

Since when is 18 years temporary?

ETA: The eye-roll isn't directed at you, DS. It's addressing the fact that 18 years is interpreted by some folks as a temporary form of aid.

And a lot of people took advantage of that rule by having multiple births that almost guaranteed lifetime of welfare aid which is why with some of the reforms being established, some people can't even get ON without meeting pre existing conditions and some but not all of those loopholes are now being closed.

I know. My grandmother raised 6 kids on her own without any type of aid back in the 60's. She worked as a local librarian in a small town in Miss, and the sacrifices they made then are unheard of now. She would make my aunts' and dads clothes herself, handing them down as the kids outgrew them, saving grease to make soap, etc. She sent them all away to college too. I have mad respect for that woman.

Since Libramunoz wanted to bring it up then I will play.

She says welfare recipients are not in a cycle. Tell me how there is no cycle when her father left her when she was one and he has been married 6 times? Now she is collecting food stamps. Her kids will probably end up collecting food stamps also. Libramunoz is obviously part of that cycle that she says does not exist.

The point that DaemonSeid doesn't get is his welfare state does not work. That is why his neighborhood is a ghetto and half the people do not have jobs.
O.K. you nitwit--let me point this out to you--

You have no sense of couth and you have no sense of having a sensible argument, you make a choice to twist others words in order to fit your own argument!

Your argument is backwards and is totally arcane. And all it proves is that you don't have any facts straight, aren't willing to learn anything new when new information is given to you, and that you aren't willing to change your thinking pattern.

Now the next time you want to "put my business out in the streets" why don't you get it right! I know what my business is--you're just the one trying to get it and understand it!
