From the looks of what has been writen time and time again, most people don't think about the possibility that some brothers are initiated into graduate chapters that still pledge. I don't think that most people who have these issues get this far. Once they hear Sigma at the end of a chapter name, it automatically means "skater", "paper", and the host of other words used.

As for the law saying that it is illegal for undergraduates to plegde or take part in any activities that could be construed as the former, I don't know. I have always been under the impression that it was illegal PERIOD. No matter what sort of chapter is done in. (Since I don't know, I should check this.)

The fact that nationals does not acknowledge this phenomena does not surprise me in the least bit. It appears as if they have a don't ask, don't tell policy. Furthermore, if they don't hear about the "activities" and no one is caught or harmed, why should they care? If I was at the nationals, I'd only be concerned about those chapters where things have gotten out of hand to the point where people are suing.

Anyway, the nationals operates like a business. They don't want anything stopping the flow of cash into the organization. (Cash, I might add that could be used to help push forth some of the programs we have.)

See ya at Philly.
