Did anyone ever actually confirm that the DVD's didn't work. Because since the DVDs were provided by the American Film Institute, I'm still calling "unfounded assumption" on that.

DVDs are usually regionally coded. The US is on the North American code (1) and the UK is on code 2, I believe. Asia might be code 2. UK might be 3, I'm not sure, the point is that even if DVDs work, they won't work everywhere (unless they are uncoded)

Fox News said that the DVDs were unusable, but didn't substantiate it.
Frankly, I'm thinking that there's someone in the Protocol Office who has an in with either Best Buy or Toys R Us.

I am really finding it hard to find any story here.
I have a multi-region DVD player in my tiny postage-stamp sized flat here in the UK -- I have had it for years --- and I am just not believing that Downing Street doesn't have one. It's not like they are prohibitively expensive, and just about everyone I know here has one, too. When the pound was really strong against the dollar, a lot of Brits were loading up on Region 1 DVDs during their trips to the States and watching them here with no problem at all.

Yeah, I'd want more than that to go on.

LOL. I'm thinking its more like an in with Apple though. The American Film Institute put the DVDs together, from what I read, and the iPod didn't sound like one that can be picked up at Wal-Mart.
