Wow, I hate the bottom 3! I know my dream of only a Bottom 1 wasn't possible (looking at you, Megan), but Michael and Alexis??! Very sad.

And oh! I was just about to say I'd only want to see Alyson leave out of this group, but she just got declared safe! I like both Michael and Alexis, I'll feel bad for whoever leaves....

^^^^ DITTO! We are screaming that Allison is safe! We wanted her to leave of those three. I wonder if they will save Alexis Grace if she gets voted off...

^^Yes, I think they'd save Alexis if she is the one who is declared the one to go. I don't think they'd use it to save Michael, I think they see him as a nice guy people like but I think they really like Alexis' singing.

*edit* She's good, but I think the whole reason they designed the save would be pointless if they used it this early on in the competition.

Oh well, I would much prefer she made the tour than Megan, Allison or Scott, but overall, it's a great Top 10.

I think the save is a perfect tool to use at this point instead of later...She had a bad night, but she is good. Save her. All of their reasons for this year's save component (i.e. Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, etc) all ended up fine in the end. In fact, their untimely demise actually worked to their benefit. But this early in the show, she is a perfect save. A very talented girl who had a bad night but definitely could be a contender.
I hate that she won't be on the tour.

Only three women left? And, imo none of the three will make it to the end.

I really thought Michael was going home out of the bottom 3! I was shocked about both Allison and Alexis being in the bottom 3. I think Alexis deserved another chance, the judges seemed to like her throughout the entire competition except for country week.

Someone else said it, but I also thought it was really wrong what they did to Michael! He sits down thinking he's safe and it's like, not so fast! Poor guy.

Megan + Adam, please go away!

Just tell the person if they are going to save them or not!!!! Do not humiliate them with having to sing the song again just to say...You aren't good enough!!!

I actually thought Alexis was not that bad...I love the song, and I thought she did a decent job....Adam should have been a goner!!!!

I was sad they didn't save Alexis. I think there are other people who should have gone home before her (like Michael Sarver - even though he seems like such a nice guy). And I agree with the statements about Megan - her dancing is weird and she needs to go.

There was no way they were going to use the save last night. Eleventh place is far too low for Alexis, but let's face it... she is not in the appointed few that the judges want to win the whole thing. They could not waste their save this early, in the chance that their precious Lil, Danny or (gag) Adam has a shocker early exit.

I do find the whole save thing a bit bizarre. I can't remember if this has been discussed here already (and sorry, am too tired right now to go back through all the posts) but they point to Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson as those who were sent packing before their time, and thus 2 of the inspirations for said rule change. However Jennifer finished in 3rd place and Daughtry in 4th, but the rules state that the save can't be used once their are fewer than 5 contestants left. Therefore the save would have done them no good.

I don't really like this addition to the show. It just makes the poor contestants sing for their lives, pleading for a chance, when for most of them there is no chance the save will come into play. Alexis went way too early. I kind of like her, and unlike Kara do not feel that she had to get even "dirtier."

Also, I am a bit late to this rant, but I didn't watch until yesterday, so here is my late addition:

OMG- Ring of Fire? Seriously? That has got to be top 3 worst arrangements in the history of idol (Kristy Lee.. yes, I am including you in that mix too..) not to mention a song that you just don't mess with. I also thought it was a bit smug the way he just blew off country music and Nashville. Is country everyone's cup of tea? Of course not, and no one expects it to be. But with the theme playing homage to the Opry, Randy Travis in the audience, and Carrie Underwood as a very successful alum... well, you just show a little respect and keep your trap shut. Admit that it is not a genre that you have performed before, but don't get all "nope, never want to go there, don't want to do it," etc. Lil was a perfect example of showing class and honor even though it was beyond her comfort zone.

I was glad to see that Simon called his performance like it was- indulgent and horrible. However, the lick fest that Paula and Kara have with him just disguists me. If *anyone* else had done that to that song, they would have been skewered but every judge. Even Simon, who did not like it, did not go so far as to say that it should put his place in the competition in jeopardy like he has with other contestants who have done similar horrendous crimes.

The girls are really dropping like flies.

I agree. I thought she did a great job. I just thought it was really silly how the simon raked her over the coals for "not being true to herself," but yet, when Adam did exactly that - stuck to his own style - he too got flames because he disrespected the genre.
