Shamock Question
So I've been wondering, where did Shamrock get its name? Is it b/c it used to be a March event or is there something more to it?

This my story and I'm sticking to it. National Kappa Delta had determined that Child Abuse Prevention would become a National Philanthropy. At sometime during it's 1st year or 2nd as a National Philanthropy the San Antonio Alumnae Association decided that they would raise money by going downtown during St Patrick's day and collect money on the street corner. Whoever gave a donation got a Shamrock. ( Of course the green played off our colors) Somehow it was submitted to National KD and it took off from there. I know this to be true because my dear friend, who is a regular lurker on this site, she can't figure out how to register, was a member of the group when it happend. In fact her husband designed the original logo at their dining room table. She thinks there may have been a contest that San Antonio entered and won. Probably more information than you wanted but there it is is in all it's green glory.
