Also, Jack, Hurley, and Kate were not all together. Jack landed in the woods/jungle and then ran to the pool where he found Hurley and Kate, so I'm guessing the passengers just crashed randomly around the island (we don't even know where Sayid, Sun, or Ben crashed).
I also thought it was weird how Charlotte just disappeared and basically went back to who she was in the 70s/whenever they are stuck in time, but the other characters were not transported back to who/where they were at that time in their original/linear lives. That makes me think that they really can't change events that have happened in the "original" past/the times they travel to. I wish this show had some consistency/rules!
Also, even after reading all previous comments about "Horace," he still doesn't ring a bell?

She probably appeared that way because she died. She was no longer moving through time with those characters who are still alive, so when they went back to the 70s, she was as she was in the 70s.

Ah, that makes sense...
I thought the baby that was delivered might have been Ben, but then his dad wasn't Horace, if I remember correctly.

No, Horace found Ben's dad in a forest in the US after Ben's mom died in the forest (They had been on a camping trip if I recall).
During that same episode we saw Ben as a young boy being sent to Dharma with his dad because they knew Horace.
Oh and we know where Ben crashed....he must have crashed with the new people because he was in their group of injured because Locke id'ed him as "The man who killed me"

Oh.. must have missed that.
I'm just glad that people are starting to get back together again so that things are less confusing

Yes, that's pretty much it. Ben's Dad is not Horace, Ben's Dad was Roger Linus, the guy who looked like "Douglas C. Niedermayer" from ANIMAL HOUSE (also the guy who played the mean dad in Twister's Sister's "We're not gonna take it" video).
Oh, and here is the synopsis of how the Linus' met Horace:
"Off the Island"
On December 19th, during an unknown year in the 1960s, Roger and his wife, Emily, went on a hike in a forest near Portland. At the time, Emily was seven-months pregnant with, presumably, their first and only child. For an unknown reason, she went into labor early into the hike. Roger delivered the baby, picked-up Emily and the baby, and ran for help. They reached the side of a busy road and Roger managed to stop a couple (Horace Goodspeed and his wife) for help. Sadly, it was too late for Emily and she died in his arms. With her dying words, she asked Roger to name the baby "Benjamin". ("The Man Behind the Curtain")
