I think what you describe is completely normal. Some of the people who got your information will contact you; others will write the rec without it, and still others will find someone they know who knows you personally.
Sadly, as with any request for a recommendation, you won't really know if they sent it or not, but most sorority women aren't going to volunteer to write the recs and then not do it, I don't think.
Certainly, you could continue to find women that personally know you who are sorority alumnae who can send additional recs too.
