Yes, the mice followed him. Or the children? Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, too.

I do know that St. Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland, does that help?

I believed this on a literal level much longer than I should have. I assumed they didn't have snakes in Ireland, until one of my college friends said, "don't you think that was allegorical about driving out Paganism?" Nope, it had never crossed my mind.
