Awwww, what a great story! I truly wasn't sure which "band" you would end up joining, but it ended up being a wonderful ending! A (10 year belated) congrats to you and Zeta!

Edit: Whoa to Lynn! Some people just don't pick things up.

It's kind of sad how being a smaller chapter makes everything harder but I think it does. You don't have the depth in talent for skit; you might have more sisters who hadn't done formal recruitment pref themselves to make sure it's polished, etc.
Its true. When our chapter did struggle with membership issues dear lord was skit round a nightmare. We were just bad at them. Finally senior year we decided to forgo the skit and do a slideshow and a song instead. Im pretty sure they DO do skit today in the chapter, but they are at campus total now, where we were probably 30 below it. We never suffered as much as The Cure did though. When they finally disbanded the following spring they were down to something like 25 sisters. Total was 95. It was really sad. I dont know why their National didnt do something LONG before it got to the point they were at.

Great story!! I would love to know which chapter DG is if you send me a PM!

And I also had a pair of (knockoff) Steve Madden black slides.... loved those things.

After you commented that the Bosstones served your favorite dessert, I was torn between thinking that they were ZTA or the Pumpkins were. I wondered if your favorite dessert had something to do with strawberries.

This story has been so much fun to read! And you ended up where you and your sisters felt you belonged, which was the best part. I love a good retro thread.

As soon as I read the Pref bit at Smashing Pumpkins I knew! haha

It is great to hear that UMD is doing well, I never got to meet any girls because with crew I couldn't attend ZTA Day and I was abroad for Officer Training.

Aww thanks! And the dessert is only a giveaway to UMDers. Its a specific dessert this chapter served during set of 5 and I think they STILL serve it only at pref now. Lindz, this should be a dead giveaway

I also jumped on the strawberry shortcake band wagon...I thought I was so clever.

Iota Omega update: we're currently at 113 members (HELL YEAH!) and a very strong presence on campus. We also got quota plus one for spring 09!
