This is a situation that would be specific to the campus, and unless someone was there, we won't be able to tell you for sure. If a sorority does not match to quota through the regular process, they are allowed to "snap bid" any PNM who didn't match or had dropped out or been released. That MIGHT be an explanation.

Hopefully the Greek Advisor and/or the VP Recruitment will reply and let you know your options.

I'm updating to add in that the Greek Advisor responded to tell me he'll be in touch with me Monday. I just learned from a friend that her friend declined a bid from the sorority I wanted to join, so I'm crossing fingers for a chance at that spot.

ETA: The numbers for each sorority are currently: 8, 11, and 12(minus one that declined)
