This really only works if bigs are the only ones who pick and the littles have no say. If it's a mutual matching system, giving the little a big she doesn't want just because the sister got a .5 over the girl the little really does want isn't going to make anyone happy and penalizes the little unfairly.

If it's doable and if the formal isn't included in your dues, free formal tickets for the highest GPA holder in the chapter can be a good motivator.

We used a matching system like what you're describing. If a member didn't make the GPA and the participation points, she wasn't eligible to be a Big Sis. The VP always let the NMs know who was eligible like weeks before they made their lists. So they knew not to include someone who couldn't take a Little Sis anyway. To be honest, the girls who didn't make points or grade were typically not girls who were around the NMs enough for one of them to consider putting them on their lists.
