*I don't think sleeping with one's bf at mom/dad's house is appropriate, but I really don't think that was a good topic for dinner.

*I love how Vicki was just on a tirade about how inappropriate pre-marital sex is, but it is totally okay for her to grope people when she's married.

*Shane= a douchebag. Seriously. Swearing like that was so uncalled for. I mean, what is the point? It's just your mom and Vicky, not your mom and Alex Rodriguez or something.

The "you're lucky I didn't throw a bat at you" comment was SO disrespectful. I can't even imagine what MY mom would say if I had spoken to her like that.

*I agree that they probably treat her that way just because that's how Matt treats her. It makes me even MORE mad that she's just like "Whatever, that's just how they grew up."

*Tamra = NOT the hottest housewife. I think that title goes to Gretchen (my personal opinion).

*I think Lynne needs to quit trying to be the "cool mom." This episode seriously proves that her parenting skills are lacking. I would be super embarrassed if my kid went to a "school for kids with disciplinary issues" for HS.

Then there was this convo with Jeana:

Jeana: So since you didn't like college, what are you up to now?
Raquel: Nothing.

On top of that, she's drinking cocktails UNDERAGE, in front of OTHER ADULTS.

She's a real prize.

Yes! I hate it when she says "I don't condone Raquel drinking," well they don't let her!! You can't control what she does outside the home, but you can control what she does inside the home.

You think Gretchen is the hottest housewife? Does she qualify since she isn't married? lol. I don't find her all that attractive. I love her hair and wish I could get that type of volume with mine, but I think Tamra is prettier than Gretchen.

Raquel, where do I begin? I thought she was still in high school on her 18th Birthday. So she has no job, graduated from a "school" for kids with behavioral issues, drives a BMW and has a complete lack of ambition. Someone needs to kick her AND her parents in the heiny.

Shane...never liked him. Always thought he was an SOB and too much like his father. Does anyone remember that he couldn't play Baseball his senior year in high school because he didn't make grades? Jeana defended him in her blog this week that he doesn't like to be filmed because of the past editing of the show. Me thinks it had something to do with him calling Tammy, "Tits".

Icky Vicki, alchoholic, loud, drunken mess. I have no words. I had to laugh when she said that her kids would never talk to her that way. Michael does all of the time.

I guess I am the only person who thought Kimberly looked bad. To me, she looks like she has aged decades since Lauri's wedding.

Totally. I think Tamara was probably attractive and maybe I would think she is now if she just didn't wear so much makeup all the time. Especially her black eyeshadow during the day! It always makes me think she's doing a walk of shame in last night's makeup and clothes.

Any kid I know whose parents attempted to play the "cool mom" role like that ALWAYS ended up eventually doing something super dumb and reckless like getting a DUI.

I can totally see Alexa & Raquel turning into some sort of less rich Paris & Nicky Hilton types. You know, DUIs, rehab stints, the whole 9. Except for the fact that MTV won't think they're reality TV show worthy. LOL.

I also get the idea that Lynne doesn't take her daughter's lack of ambition THAT seriously. She's just kind of like, "Yeah, I know Raquel is a complete bum, but it's her life."

I agree with Jeana on the "either you go to school or work full time" thing. I knew some reasonably well-off kids in HS, and they certainly weren't allowed to just live off of mommy and daddy if they weren't doing anything with their lives.

Many of the OC housewives do their eyes like I used to see in Mexico. They are bleached blonde -- from the old picts of Tamra they showed last night, the roots are dyed -- they wear the heavy black eyeliner and either false eyelashes or heavy black mascara. I hated when Lauri did this. A BIG GLAMOUR-DON'T . Their eyes look absolutely hideous and cheap, and they look like tramps.

I think that is one of the other reasons that Tamra appears so much prettier. She doesn't cake on the make-up like the rest do. I wouldn't attribute it all to age because Jo did the same, but was able to get away with it better since she is dark skinned and kept her dark roots natural.

*I'm glad that Lynne is noticing that she's too lenient with her kids.

*She seems like a little bit of an airhead this episode (i.e. not knowing if her house has air conditioning).

*Vicki is so ridiculous, with the whole "that's MY favorite drink" thing.

*I don't get why men are hitting on Vicki. I really don't find her to be cute.

*I think it's funny that they went to Tryst. I don't even like to go there and I'm 24.

The fact is that Gretchen & Jeff aren't married, and Gretchen isn't working. i'm over Gretchen, her dumb "sex" comments have irked me. First she said that her & Jeff have sex while he is in the hospital....then at the dinner party she made a comment about how she hasn't had sex in 8 months. Come on Gretch, which is it? Get it together.

It is DEFINITELY being realistic. I'm in the same financial advising field as Vicki, and you don't get to be Court of the Table in MDRT for selling a couple life insurance policies here and there. Once Jeff is gone (which we know he is) it's too late. He's been married so many times before, I would hope that he's got things taken care of. Vicki's right that Gretchen could be drawing a 'salary' from taking care of Jeff. Her comment about 'needing to take money from her savings to pay bills' probably sent up an alarm with Vicki. Meaning, Gretchen didn't have access to his accounts. I thought Jeana's comment about Lynne talking like 'a woman who doesn't work' was spot-on. While she went through the same thing with her husband, it was a long time ago, with much less history, no children, etc.

If they are THAT close (gretchen and Jeff) it should not be an uncomfortable conversation. My husband is perfectly healthy, but I know I'm his beneficiary, etc. If something happens to him, I'm not going to be wondering what to do next. If anything, Gretchen is fortunate to have had time to 'plan'. Many people (speaking from experience here) are NOT that lucky. You'd be surprised, especially with old policies, who is lsted as a beneficiary...and that goes for insurance and investments. Naming a beneficiary allows procedes to pass outside of a will/probate. A smart thing to do.

I'm not giving anyone advice, as I'm not licensed in every state, but a beneficiary arrangement is common sense.

I do like Gretchen, but I think she is better suited for Girls Next Door than Real Housewives. I loved the comment regarding Vicki thinking she is the best at everything.

My biggest eye-rolling comment of the evening was when Tamra said that Lynne's dress was up to her waist. I guess she didn't notice that she left her floatation devices exposed in her shirt. I'm sorry, Tamra's implants are very obnoxious.

Best quip of the night was from Jeanna: "You are 25? Well then I need 2 of you"

I read this intervew a few weeks ago and found Icky to be unbelieveable. She is absolutely one of the most mean-spirited women I have ever seen.

I don't see what is so mean-spirited about her. I can see how the comments about Lynne were a little harsh, but I do believe Vicki about Gretchen. I do think there is something shady about Gretchen that the viewers don't know, and if that is true then I completely understand where Vicki is coming from.

"something" was a guy who G use to date drunk-dialed the Barneys and told them they were still dating. He then retracted the story when he sobered up. Tamra has admitted what really happened, but Icky won't.

Sorry for the double-post. Did anyone read Icky's blog this week about her brain surgery? I'm still laughing because she is trying to take credit for Brianna finding her calling in Nursing.
