Glad to see them up and rolling. Welcome back. In answer to your question tho. I dont know the specifics here. Could have been the undergrads busted ass to get the chap back. But I have more times than not found that there tends to be a direct proportional relationship between alum support, cash, and the amount of time a chapter is closed. Ala UT-Austin. They were closed exactly 9 months in 1994-1995. I know 'cause 1) were right down the street from them. 2)We re-colonized them. 3.) we were friends with a lot of the undergrads who used to be there. 4) UT is #2 in the nation in terms of alum cash donated to 8741 founders road.
I have no problem with the policy that trash walks and money talks, I just wish IHQ would own up to it. It does make sense for us to colonize / recolonize in an area where alums can guide/support a new colony. But call a spade a spade. (if you call IHQ - they will tell you that it has been standard operating procedure to have a chapter closed for at least 5 years to allow current members to matriculate through.) Dont hide behind standards in regard to some schools and bend the rules for other schools. What was that I think I heard somewhere one time, Vir Quisque Vir? Why are they terrified of honesty? I am giving it the benefit of the doubt and assuming it had someting to do with the Bob London administration, and that IHQ has confessed its faults and sincerely tried to mend its ways.
We'll see.
Hey, as all of you know, I actively advocate an aggressive expansion policy, so the more chapters, the better. If my Zeta can be of any assistance to NMSU, PLEASE do not hesitate to let me know.
IMHO....
