In addition to what KSUViolet said, it also depends on the chapter of the service group you are pledging. Some are super OK with their members pledging Greek orgs....others are very anti-Greek and look on it as a betrayal. Sometimes the same chapter flip flops attitudes in a few years.

I was in both, and it's possible to juggle them. You need to be sure, though, to give ample notice if you're not going to be able to make an event for one of the groups.
