From a general POV:
In some ways yes. In most ways, no.
I strongly believe that homosexuality is a choice.
Even if it isn't a choice, you can conceal it.
If you're AA or any other minority, it is not a choice and you cannot conceal it. In other words, if a homosexual wishes not to be oppressed, s/he can hide the fact, blacks and women can't!

From a biblical POV:
That is an entirely different ball park....
