We can pray for the President, we can respect the office, but there's nothing saying that anyone has to support the President or all of his policies.

As someone who has been vocal in their non-support of the immediate past President, you should understand that as well as anyone.

Please go back and read what he said....HE said:

"...and support him while in office."

That was not my comment.

I agree with your point BTW.

The approval ratings proved your point also.

I move that we strike counsel's objection from the record.

TexasWSP, I get what you're trying to do with the joke. However, that type of joke is contextual. A white man making that joke out of the thin air isn't funny 95% of the time and I don't think you cracked the 5%.

You could've made the same point by saying he is some people's Messiah or Jesus, without saying "Black Jesus." Then you would've just offended fellow Christians.

And please believe that I still don't find the humor in "Barack the Magic Negro."

Dude I stole all those names from the highest ranked talk radio station in America.

Guess there aren't too many listeners here.

Still doesn't make it right or funny

Jokes like that leave to professionals...

like Rush, Don or Michael Richards

And follow this warning:

"Kid's just because you see it on TV, don't try it at home"

"Dude"

.....lol

Eh, I just choose to not call him Barack Obama. The liberal media and his follow....errr....supporters have convinced me that he is a higher being, capable of no wrong, who will deliver us from evil.

I have noticed that too and you can express that sentiment without the off-color jokes. It is a silly distraction.

If it makes everyone happy I will gladly stop calling our new President names.....especially ones that are in poor taste.

Had no idea you were ole DST. Good to hear.

See...and that's where you go wrong...many people know better, stop watching TV and thinking that the media is feeding the masses that rubbish and the masses believe it. Talk to some people that have common sense and we will tell you that altho WE ARE ECSTATIC about Obama being president, he is HUMAN like everyone else and we don't expect him to fix everything in the next 4 years BUT we are HOPING and praying he is not mess up like Bush was.

i don't plan on closing my eyes and say...Oh it's Barack and he can get away with it...much of the opposite to that, he probably will be scrutinized more than any president ever was...but NOBODY expects him to be perfect.

I had a response to your last post but I am just going to let it go.

You did basically call me a cracker though. It's cool.

Look....I hope he doesn't make some of the same mistakes Bush did either. I think Bush's presidency will be looked upon different in the long run, but that's neither here nor there. Hey, I was speaking in poor taste. Shoot me. I don't think it was racist, but oh well. I know in my mind why the name was made up but that doesn't really matter if it truly offends people. Obviously it does.

If he can turn some of his ideas into realities I will be more than happy..specifically ones that relate to my line of work.
