Real World: Brooklyn

Definitely going to be a unique season. Anyone else tune in?

I actually watched this after not watching the last few seasons. They all look different and I can tell them apart which is a changeup.

I enjoyed it a lot. It's reminiscent of RW Seattle to me, with a bit of Philly.

I'm so mad that I missed it. Usually I can tell how the season is going to be from the first episode. Based on that, I figure out whether or not it's worth watching.

Definitely. Just from looking at these people, I can tell it's not going to be another Real World: Syndey fiasco.

And I'm glad to see that the hot boy is from a couple towns over from where I grew up. NH represent!

Me too! I just haven't been able to get into the past seasons.

Did anyone watch the after-show?

I don't think I've watched the show since I was in junior high (though I did catch an episode or two last season- exboyfriend and his friends had a weird obsession), but based on what I caught of it at a friends' house this evening I'll start watching again. It'll be interesting to see if the eighth roommate actually becomes a factor (they certainly made a big enough deal out of in the premier)

So....I haven't kept up with the Real World since Back to NY which aired in 2001, I watched the episode and I LOVED IT!

They really did change it up this season! Finally! If you go to the "Post World" video on mtv.com Baya explains that no one was a binge drinker or even anywhere near heavy...Scott said everyone was really just focused on getting their careers going and that 'doesn't happen by laying a hot tub all day'

I know the initiated the job having because the London kids sat around all day watching tv, so they needed them to be active...but dang this is the best move yet!

Let's just hope they don't cave into doing the hookup fiascos...which, judging from the previews, that's not likely to happen

and the premiere episode received a rating of 6.6....uh yeah that's really high! Cheers!

I saw the episode over the weekend, and I already like where the show is heading. I don't see it being a big drunken orgy, as has been the case in the past.

Everyone seems very different, and as if they each have a unique story to tell. I think I'm actually going to watch this entire season.

I watched it, I'll probably watch the next few episodes to see how I like it. I didn't really like anybody except for the military guy (Ryan?) and the workout-aholic.

I still havent decided if I like this season/cast yet but I'll tune in a few more times.

On another note, I cant believe RW is on its 21st season! Makes me feel old since I started watching back when season 2 started (then watched season 1 reruns)

well considering they sometimes had 2 seasons in one year, it's not as bad as it seems.

The blonde guy Chet just said something about when he's in the fraternity house... Anyone know what fraternity?

Quote:
Don't let his look fool you: Chet is not your typical punk rock party boy. Despite his tight jeans and affinity for neon clothing, this 23-year-old University of Utah frat boy is one of 10 children in a strict Mormon family. Recently single, Chet's flamboyant style and energetic personality always makes him the life of the party. Still, that doesn't mean he'll compromise his firm beliefs: no alcohol and no premarital sex. Chet won't chug beer with his fraternity brothers, but he'll take care of them when they get drunk, and sometimes that means playing a prank or two. A die-hard Republican, he is not one to shy away from voicing his opinions and standing up for what he believes in.

"I may be metrosexual, but it's not a sin!"

That song cracked me up.
