Leslie, I've only been an alum since last December, and I admit, it is kinda hard at first.
The first few weeks of the new semester was especially difficult because I knew Tuesday nights were Chapter meetings. It was weird at 7:00, being at home and knowing that they're holding chapter!
So my suggestion is this--try and have lunch with the sisters whenever you can so you can kinda get an idea of what's going on. Email the sisters with what's going on with your life every so often just so they know you're okay and they know what you're up to. You're going to feel out of the loop for a while, but you'll eventually get used to it...especially when you do become an active alum!
When you start doing 'alum stuff'...you're going to have the time of your life. It's a new beginning and at first I was scared and intimidated, but your alums are there to welcome you with open arms. Hopefully you'll feel the way I do...and pledge to support the undergraduate chapter and your new alum chapter as much as you can.
Good luck to you Leslie, and if you ever need help, my door's always open!
LiEP,
Sandy
