Hi so I'm a sophomore at USC and really want to be in a sorority. I am a transfer student as well. At my first school, i went through recruitment and got a bid to delta zeta!! which i lovedddd but when I decided to transfer to a school that didn't have that sorority, i dropped before any of the ceremonies. Now I am at USC and love it here. I went through recruitment at the begining of the fall semester and didn't have that great of an experience. I got invited to only 4 of the sororities after the initial meetings! I decided to give it a shot and really fell in love with one of the sororities that I didnt think I would like (ADPI) and I even had another house that I liked as a second choice (Gamma Phi Beta) the other two houses I didn't really click with. I was DEVASTATED when I got dropped the next cut by both of those. The houses I had left were AXO and SDT. AXO had really nice girls but I found the conversation akward and boring. I'm sure that there are great girls in there but I got paired with some that I couldn't see myself as sisters with, more likely acquaintances. The other house, SDT, was brand new and this was their first formal recruitment. The conversations were better in this house than at AXO for me but I really wanted to be a part of a larger sorority and be able to experience having a lot of sisters. Anyways, after I found out that I got dropped from ADPI and GFB, i was so upset that I ended up dropping out of rush....and I find that I still really want to be in a sorority. Is it a bad idea to do it again in the fall? I'll be a junior and they will probably know that I dropped out this time. Further, what do I say when they ask why I waited till now to rush/why I dropped out last time? I don't want to seem rude...
And I would advise you to use some discretion. It is very likely that many sisters from USC are either posting or lurking on this site, and I don't think they comments you've made about some chapters are very flattering.
