The secrecy was likely a security measure because as you have continually noted, he was entering a "war zone". And so the roomful of reporters were all sworn to secrecy, you think? Not one news story would have come out about his farewell visit after he was safely out of country?

Bush is out of office in about 45 days. We've been engaged in Iraq for about 7 years. Every reference to his trip is that it was his "FAREWELL VISIT". Is there really something unclear about that to you?
